  A fairy-tale deer

  The magic of making art lies largely in the chance to create your own visual stories with characters and plots that belong to no one else. One of the most suitable genres for showing a character from your imagination and introducing them to an audience is illustration. This lesson is devoted to a portrait illustration of an imaginary character - a fairy-tale deer. The portrait is done in mixed media - using watercolor and colored pencils.   Illustration is a free genre of painting that lets an artist work out a style of their own and depict characters who live only in their imagination. As a stylized character illustration takes shape, the hero in the picture comes more and more to life and finds a look all of its own.
