A fun oil painting marathon
Two-day oil painting marathon
In this work we will create not just a landscape, but an almost surreal space, where the window becomes the border between reality and dream.
On one side an old wall, shutters, architecture, the texture of plaster. On the other light, air, clouds, warm fields and sunny Provence, which seems to begin penetrating inside the very space of the painting.
"Window to Provence" is a painting about light, space and the feeling of summer that can be preserved on canvas.
By the end of the marathon you will have the result in the form of your own oil painting, which will look professional

We will work with the contrast between architectural form and free painting, combining sharp details of the window with a more abstract, lively landscape, learning to convey bright sunlight, depth of space and complex warm tones.
We will pay special attention to texture: we will use thick painting, work with the palette knife, free brushstrokes and layering, so the surface of the painting stays alive and modern.
Over two days we will cover composition, perspective, architectural elements, working with the sky and clouds, building the background, and, most importantly, we will create the feeling of that very southern light that makes you want to open the window and find yourself on the other side.
