What the course gives you
We will paint a realistic peony in close-up on an abstract background.
What you will learn:
- the correct construction of a flower
- to work with the palette and with tonal relationships
- to make soft gradients of complex shades within a single color
- to convey a great deal of painterly reflected light and the play of light and shade
- to create the texture of delicate petals
- to stylize the background to suit your own ideas, to complicate it and abstract it so that the work looks whole, fresh and interesting.
