What the course gives you
We will paint a contemporary picture in the Impressionist style. We will talk about composition and interesting color choices. You will find out how to create the effect of a sunny day set against an old wooden door.
What you will learn:
- to build a drawing in a given format
- to work with imprimatura and to mix complex shades of warm colors
- to convey the play of sunlight, the coolness of shadows, painterly reflected light and varied textures: the worn paint on the door and the wall, the weave of the basket, the fine lines of graceful stems, the delicacy of petals
- to create the atmosphere of a sunny day
- you will understand what to do to make the flowers look alive and natural and the picture whole and harmonious.
